3rd at #FALS Opener

After a successfull American Modified Series opener a week ago at Moler Motorsports Complex, this past weekend it was nice to be close to home and kick of the 2014 season at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway. 21 drivers took time, but no one bested the #12 cars 13.976 lap and the $50 Fast Time award came home with us. I started on the pole in the heat race and had quite the battle with good Friend Jay Ledford. We went side by side the first half of the race race, but I was unable to take the top spot finishing 2nd. I started the feature in the 4th spot and the track was really dusty in the middle. I tried to pull through the middle of the track, but the grip was just not there. An early caution took out two top runners, but I really didn't have a winning car and settled for a 3rd place finish. Overall a good debut at Fairbury for 2014 coming off last years championship.
