Finally a weekend with no real issues in 2012. After getting caught up in a bad wreck last Saturday as we started our FALS Title Defense, a lot of work was done to get back on the track less than a week from the incident. I can't thank all my guys enough and also the crew associated with Friedman Racing for all their help. All the hard work paid off.
Friday at Farmer City I qualified 6th fastest and started 3rd in my heat race. I battled with good friend Jay Ledford, but finished 2nd. I started 3rd in the feature and kept up with the leaders, but there was not much passing. After the long week, the 3rd place finish felt like a victory.
Saturday is was back to Fairbury looking to get back on track. I qualified 5th fastest and finished 5th in the fast heat. It took my tires a little longer to come in because of all the cautions, but I was able to move up to finish 3rd and a little faster than the leaders when the checkered flag flew.
Coming up this weekend, Friday night is a question mark after all the news regarding Farmer City Raceway and UMP. We will be racing, but probably won't know which direction were going until late Friday afternoon. Saturday of course we'll be at Fairbury speedway looking for our first win of 2012.

I would also like to take this time to thank all my 2012 sponsors. They include Pro Tire & Automotive, Longhorn Smokehouse, DMI Technology Group, Pontiac RV, Chatsworth Ag Service, Lowery Painting, Grandma & Grandpa Wharton, Roach Construction, Faithful Friends, The RV Mattress Company, Augie, Friedman Racing Engine, Thunderstruck Racing, Ace Motorsports, MV2 Race Bodies, Mom, Fusion Sign Company, Leman Paint Works, Dyers Rods, Bell Helmets, Hinchman Racing Uniforms, Nitro Plate, Fel-Pro, Vallow Speed & Performance, FastShafts and QuickCar Racing Products.
