2nd Place at Farmer City Opener

With an off weekend originally planned, the team decided mid-week to head to Farmer City Raceway and support their opening night. A great field of 25 modified checked into the 1/4 dirt oval. Curl qualified 5th overall and started outside the front row for the heat race. Rolling the middle of turns 1 and 2 and beating good friend Jay Ledford to the top in turns 3 and 4 was the deciding factor as Curl went on to win the heat race by a few car lengths. The win would sit him on the front row outside for the main event. On the start of the 20 lap main event, Jeff Leka jumped into the lead from his pole position. With Curl in hot pursuit the two started distancing themselves from the rest of the field. Leka could never get too far away and a late caution set up a little dramatics. A great restart put Curl right on Leka's deck lid headed down the back stretch. Diving to the inside was not enough to clear Leka and he had to settle for a runner-up finish.

Next up is the American Modified Series event at the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, KY on Saturday April 18th.
